MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
Kaze Shotokan Karate ClubChief Instructor, Marcia Ransom – a 6th degree Black belt in Shotokan karate.
SENSEI – Marcia Ransom
Marcia Ransom is a 6th degree black belt in shotokan. She began training in shotokan in 1986, and has trained in the Western, Mid-America, and East Coast regions of the International Shotokan Karate Federation. Ms. Ransom did most of her training at the Philadelphia Shotokan Karate Club, and still trains directly under Shihan Teruyuki Okazaki, Chairman of the ISKF. Sensei Ransom is a certified instructor, judge, examiner, and dedicated member of the ISKF.
She is also an active competitor, competing locally, in regional and goodwill tournaments, as well as nationally, and internationally as a member of the USA Team. Some of her recent accomplishments include:

SENSEI – Steven Lucas
Steven Lucas is a 3rd-degree black belt (Sandan rank) in Shotokan Karate. He began training in 198? with the JKA. Sensei Lucas competed in local, regional, and international tournaments, and was a member of the 3rd-place Seniors Kata Team at the 2012 ECSKA Championships.
SENSEI – Jim Koncos
Jim Koncos is a 2nd-degree black belt (Nidan rank) in Shotokan Karate. He began training in 1985 working his way up to brown belt before taking a 24-year break. He returned to training in 2011 under Sensei Marcia Ransom at the Kaze Shotokan Karate Club in the USA East Coast region of the International Shotokan Karate Federation. (ISKF). Sensei Koncos is an ISKF instructor trainee and a certified judge. He competes in local, regional, and goodwill tournaments, and was a member of the 3rd-place Seniors Kata Team at the 2012 ECSKA Championships.
